declaration釋義：declaration在法律英語中常用作申報，如customs declaration報關(guān)，export declaration出口申報，income tax declaration個稅申報等。

delegate釋義：delegate在法律英語中的意思是轉(zhuǎn)讓，通常指義務(wù)的轉(zhuǎn)讓，如：In accordance with the Law of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter “China”), the consent of the creditors shall be obtained for the delegation of obligations to become effective.根據(jù)中華人民共和國（以下稱“中國”），義務(wù)的轉(zhuǎn)讓須取得債權(quán)人的同意方可生效。

Discharge釋義：discharge在法律英語中的常用含義有兩個：

　?、俾男校瑐?cè)重于對具體義務(wù)的履行，相當(dāng)于fulfill，如

　　He discharged his obligations after the call of the creditors。

　　他在債權(quán)人的督促下，才履行了自己的義務(wù)。

　?、诿獬?，即免除他人的義務(wù)或債務(wù)。

　　His liability to pay the loan to the bank was discharged due to his bankruptcy。

　　他對銀行的借款償還義務(wù)因其破產(chǎn)而免除。

　　從上面兩個例子可以看出，discharge的兩個含義是截然相反的，因此，我們在理解和翻譯它的含義時，應(yīng)當(dāng)放到上下文中，不能望文生義。一般來說，如果主語是自己（如例證1），就理解為履行，動作由別人發(fā)出（如例證2），則理解為免除。

Discovery釋義：discovery在法律英語中指的不是發(fā)現(xiàn)，而是證據(jù)的開始，是英美法中審判程序的一個環(huán)節(jié)，通常為evidence discovery，也叫evidence disclosure.

discretion釋義：discretion在法律英語中的意思是裁量權(quán)，自由決定權(quán)。如Either party may, at its sole discretion, assign the whole or any part of the contract or any benefit or interest in or under the contract, provided a prior notice of the same shall be given to the other party.合同的任何一方都可以自行決定全部或部分轉(zhuǎn)讓本合同，或轉(zhuǎn)讓本合同項下的利益和權(quán)益，但應(yīng)提前通知合同另一方。

Dissolution釋義：dissolution通常指（公司等）解散，如The JVC becomes bankrupt or is the subject of proceedings for liquidation or dissolution by reason of insolvency or ceases to carry on business or becomes unable to pay its debts as they become due.合營公司破產(chǎn)，或因資不抵債而進(jìn)入清算程序或解散，或終止其業(yè)務(wù)，或無力償付到期債務(wù)?！?/span>

distress釋義：distress在法律英語中的常用意義為扣押物，如abuse the distress濫用扣押物，distress sale扣押物出售等?！?/span>

draft釋義：draft在法律英語中通常有兩個含義，一個是起草，如draft a law起草法律，draft a contract起草合同等。另一個意思是匯票，如承兌匯票也可以是honor a draft，開具匯票可以說是issue a draft等。
